The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD, and Minster of State for Health, Mary Butler TD, met with Members of the Southern Regional Assembly on the importance of the marine economy to the Southern Region of Ireland on Thursday 22^nd July.

Cllr. Pip Breen of Wexford County Council was elected Cathaoirleach of the Southern Regional Assembly for 2021-22 at a socially distant annual meeting on Friday 8^th July.  Cllr. Gerard Murphy of Cork County Council was elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach.

Cllr. John Sheahan of Limerick City & County Council was elected Cathaoirleach of the Southern Regional Assembly for 2020-21 at a socially distant annual meeting on Friday 17th July.  Cllr. Deirdre O’Brien of Cork County Council was elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach.
