10-minute Towns/ Cities for Sustainable Living
Imagine living in a city or town where your community services and activities are within a 10-minute walk, cycle or bus ride from your home?
To celebrate European Mobility Week from 16-22 September to promote sustainable ways to move about in our daily lives, the Southern Regional Assembly is highlighting the benefits of a 10-minute town or city, where community facilities and services can be reached within a 10 minute walk, cycle or bus ride from home. https://mobilityweek.eu/home/
The Southern Regional Assembly has developed this idea with local authorities in the Southern Region through its 10-minute towns/ cities framework for cleaner and better connectivity. Developed through the Assembly’s involvement in the Interreg Europe MATCH UP project, the framework feeds into the implementation of the Regional Spatial & Economic Strategy for the Southern Region (RSES).
We have teamed up with WLR FM and it’s Go Greener campaign to spread the word about sustainable transport across Waterford.
