COHES3ION virtual journey continues

COHES3ION project partners came together for the penultimate project study visit on November 26th 2020 hosted virtually by our Polish partner. Unfortunately, we did not get to experience the picturesque Mazovian region, home to the city of Warsaw; however we got to meet some of the regions innovators working on boosting the regions innovative capacity.
Our Mazovian partners had many informative and innovative work initiatives to share including:
- Introduction to the Mazovia region and RIS3 status;
- CEZAMAT: connecting R&D infrastructure with the regional and (inter)national innovation ecosystems;
- The process of entrepreneurial discovery – working groups on S3 in the Mazovian region;
- Integrated Territorial Investments in the Warsaw Metropolis.
The presentations were followed by a lively discussion on overcoming the shared challenges of implementing a targeted Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) at the regional level. One common challenge among partners being how to effectively engage the relevant stakeholders to be involved in the process, which was discussed at length. The SRA look forward to discussing the case studies in more detail with our regional stakeholders to determine how to apply the learnings to effect within the region.
The SRA are partners on the Interreg Europe COHES3ION project, looking at the integration of the regional dimension into Smart Specialisation Strategies, which will assist in identifying regional Smart Priorities and strengthening the regional coordination of innovation delivery and support players.
COHES3ION is part-funded by the Interreg Europe Programme, through the European Regional Development Fund and is led by BEAZ S.A.U., Spain.
The project will run until 2022, find out more about COHES3ION here.
