EER Award Nominations 2021 Re-open

The jury of the European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) Award is re-opening the 2021 call for applications and merging it with the next one. The theme of this special EER 2021-2022 call is entrepreneurship for a sustainable recovery.

The 2021-2022 EER Award will allow up to 6 regions to receive the EER label join a network of pioneering territories actively strengthening their entrepreneurial ecosystems, exchanging good practices and partnering up for European projects. The new deadline to submit applications is 28 October 2020.

For inspiration, have a look at the iEER project. It is an Interreg Europe project that brings together former EER winners and shows how interregional cooperation can help to share solutions to boost regional entrepreneurship ecosystems and support young entrepreneurs in particular.

What's new in the EER 2021-2022 call?

  • It aims to encourage European regions and cities to develop strategies for boosting entrepreneurship and SMEs, taking account of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis
  • Up to 6 regions will hold the EER label for a period of two years (2021 and 2022). This should give them time to plan and implement strategies for a successful economic and social recovery

Who can apply?

Any EU territory below the Member State level can apply, as long as they have the political-level competence to implement an entrepreneurial strategy. Regions, cities, EGTCs and Euroregions are welcome to participate.

The application deadline is 28 October 2020. See the full details on the EER website
