Smart Southern Region & Two Year RSES Monitoring Report Launch

Smart Southern Region & Two Year RSES Monitoring Report Launch

On the 18 January we held the Smart Southern Region Launch.

Click here to watch a recording of the event and/or visit our information booths where you can watch videos, download documents and listen to podcasts about the exciting work in the Southern Region.

Through the implementation of our Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy, the Southern Region has an ambition to be one of Europe’s most Creative and Innovative, Liveable and Greenest Regions.

To achieve this ambition, we recognise the role played by all areas, both urban and rural. This is strongly reflected in our ambition to become a Smart Southern Region.

The Smart Southern Region focuses on people and place rather than technology and seeks collaborations across all sectors to harness digital and data to create vibrant, sustainable and liveable communities.

The Smart Southern Region redefines smart to grow beyond Smart Cities and extend such initiatives to towns, villages and rural areas. It recognises that innovation and “smart” can also emanate from rural areas and the entrepreneurialism of community. Hear about our ambition, recommendations from experts and learn about our next steps and the role you can play.
